When you’re looking for one-of-a-kind merchandise, look no further than the many shopping districts inside San Francisco.  With luxury goods and unique finds, the shops and boutiques throughout town offer everything you might be looking for in a bit of retail therapy.

Union Square District

Full of the unique flavor of San Francisco, the Union Square District is home to many of the best names in fashion and has been for well over one hundred years. Alongside stores, you’ll find fine dining experiences as well as excellent theater opportunities.

Union Square became the top retail destination in the city following the 1906 earthquake. The district features a large central plaza complete with a platform stage arranged in terraces. Park in the underground garage and then enjoy a stroll through the shops before sitting down for tea or lunch at one of the many restaurants.

If you’re ready for something new, leave your car parked and hop on the cable cars to take you over to the Fisherman’s Wharf or Ghirardelli Square.

Ghirardelli Square

What was once an urban corner of the city has been transformed into a premier destination within the city. Ghirardelli Square features a luxury spa, a residential club and plenty of fine shopping opportunities. Look for high end restaurants, luxury shops, wine venues and food markets to suit every taste. Of course, Ghirardelli Square wouldn’t be complete without the large Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop.

Just steps from the hustle and bustle of Fisherman’s Wharf, Ghirardelli Square is an excellent opportunity to unwind during a busy week or an excellent afternoon or evening destination for relaxation, shopping and fine dining as well.

The Cannery

Once the largest peach cannery in the world, today The Cannery is one of San Francisco’s treasured spots within the city. Overlooking San Francisco Bay, the Cannery dates back to 1907. The space has been transformed into a collection of markets and specialty shops and restaurants, all with a bit of European flare.

Spend the afternoon shopping or the evening relaxing with the many fine dining and entertainment venues throughout the Cannery. Three levels of balconies, bridges, courtyards and cafes create the unique architecture of the Cannery making it truly one of San Francisco’s finest retail experiences.

Leave the old world charm behind and embrace the edgy modern flavor of Metreon. This blending of artistic technology and marketplace stands out in the city. Located near the airport with plenty of state-of-the-art activities for families as well as individuals, the Metreon features an IMAX movie theater and multiple restaurants and grills as well as some shops.

Embarcadero Center

More than four million square feet of space is broken up into offices and retail establishments throughout the Embarcadero Center. More than 100 shops are located inside the Embarcadero Center, and when you need a break from the overwhelming retail experiences you can find many restaurants, cafes and coffee shops as well as a small cinema as well.
